People may already be receiving the standard treatment for Alzheimer’s (a cholinesterase inhibitor) eg Donepezil or Memantine medication and this will not be affected by taking part in the trial. Also while this is a trial of a blood pressure drug - you do not have to have high blood pressure to take part.

Participants must have all of the following to be considered eligible:

- Greater than 55 years old
- A diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease
- Capacity to consent for themselves
- The presence of an informant (e.g. someone who knows you well and if familiar with your Alzheimer's disease) who is willing to participate in the study
- Memory test scores suggesting mild memory problems
Main exclusion criteria
- Already taking certain blood pressure drugs related to the trial drug that tend to end in '-sartan' or ending in '-pril" and certain diuretics (your local research team will be able to tell you).
- Inability to have an MRI (certain metal joints or implants mean an MRI cannot be undertaken - your local research team can advise.
